ViewSonic VPW5500 55-Inch Widescreen High-Definition Plasma TV

ViewSonic's VPW5500 55" Wide Plasma TV with ClearPicture technology, delivers crisp, vibrant colors and maximizes your TV enjoyment.

With a stylized, high-gloss black console and 21 percent more viewing area than a 50-inch plasma, ViewSonic's 55-inch VPW5500 is the ultimate home theater display. The widescreen plasma TV includes a built-in TV tuner to bring stunning broadcast-TV images into your home and boardroom. Revolutionary NextVision technology brings images to life with spectacular brightness and depth, and XtremeView performance offers viewing angles up to 160 degrees (horizontal and vertical) while delivering vivid images with nearly unmatched picture quality. The display's 1,366 x 768 native resolution and 1,000 cd/m2 typical brightness produce clear and bright images, whether you're viewing high-definition television (HDTV) programs, movies, or photos.

With a plasma screen you get vivid colors like you've never seen before, extremely wide viewing angles (wider, even, than those of most LCD screens), and easy placement due to a plasma monitor's slim profile--the VPW5500 is a mere 4.1 inches deep, perfect for desk or wall mounting (desktop stand and wall mount not included). Brightness tends to be extremely uniform across plasma screens, which are also impervious to the picture distortion and negative color balances that afflict CRT monitors when placed near lighting or sound systems. You do, however, need to be wary of image burn-in--wherein long-held stationary images leave a permanent impression in the screen--especially critical to keep in mind if you'll be using the set for PC work and viewing.

The display is compatible with both standard- and high-definition signals, including 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Clear Picture electronics eliminate noise, increase contrast and detail, and optimize color for a rich, vibrant image. Meanwhile, progressive scan, motion-adaptive de-interlacing and 3-D comb filter technology provide smooth, life-like pictures without jagged lines and signal noise.

Connections include composite-video, component-video, S-video, analog RGB, a DVI-I (Digital Visual Interface for PC) with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), and an RS-232C control interface (RS-232 cable not included). You can simultaneously create, view, and customize picture-in-picture, split-screen, or full-screen windows for data, video, and TV signals.

Please be advised that speakers are sold separately, and you can always use your existing stereo pair, too: the VPW5500 provides clip-type speaker terminals and 12 watts per channel (into 6 ohms). A dedicated monaural RCA subwoofer output facilitates hookup with a standalone powered speaker designed to extend the low-frequency response of your listening system.

What's in the Box
TV, a power cord (3m), a remote control, remote batteries, a quick-start guide, and a user's manual.

[ Law & Ethics ] Open Question : How much can I sue them for and how can I sue them?

The police won't because a seven year old is stealing our mail and they are letting her go. Today when I was getting our mail I saw her near my mailbox and she just stared at me like a little creep. My police are stupid because they won't arrest them even though it's a federal offense. We are getting a P.O box number and I am scared that they might do something else to us. What should I do? And my neighbor saw her mother watching her stealing our mail and she did not do anything. Oh yeah they stole a credit card also.
